Academy of Construction, Manufacturing, & Transportation

Mattie T. Blount High School Academy of Construction, Manufacturing, & Transportation through Faulkner Career Tech Center (FCTC) afford BHS students the opportunity to acquire fundamental skills in the use of hand and power tool operations. Knowledge and skills in these areas will prepare students for success in careets in the technical trades. Instructional foundations are based on the principles and utilization of workforce development providing students a realistic approach in their field of study. Additionally, safety is stressed throughout all programs. Graduates can enter the job market upon completion of these classes or studies may be pursued in a post-secondary setting. Students can earn OSHA Certification as well as NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Certification.

Automotive Engine & Service Repair Transportation, Distribution & LogisticsA one-credit course that introduces students to core knowledge and skills in the areas of facilities and mobile equipment maintenance which are foundational to courses related to careers in transportation, distribution, and logistics. This course is not a pre-requisite for entering a specific pathway.

Architecture, Construction & Manufacturing: A one-credit course that introduces students to core knowledge and skills in the areas of design, preconstruction, construction, maintenance, operations, and installation and repair which are foundational to courses related to careers in the architecture and construction and manufacturing industries. This course is not a prerequisite for entering a specific pathway.
